Asian Bankers Association Conference Commences in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: The Asian Bankers Association conference has officially begun in the federal capital, co-organized by the Nepal Bankers' Association and the Asian Bankers Association. Bankers from member countries are participating in the two-day conference.

During the inaugural session, Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat called on international bankers to consider investing in Nepal. Highlighting previous investments from the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank in Nepal, he emphasized the favorable climate for investments, particularly in the hydropower sector. The Finance Minister expressed confidence that the conference would play a crucial role in the post-COVID-19 economic revival and sustainable development of the country.

Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Maha Prasad Adhikari, acknowledged the rapid progress made by the country's banks and stressed the importance of digitalizing banks. He urged an increase in investments in the banking sector.

The conference's theme is 'Asian Banking: Roadmap for Recovery and Sustained Growth.'
